Remaster of the original Bioshock game

Bioshock Remastered is a premium action game for PC by developer 2K. It is the official remaster of the first and universally acclaimed first-person shooter, Bioshock, that came out in 2007. It introduces various graphical improvements over the original, as well as support for gaming up to 4k resolution.

Gameplay-wise and compared to the original Bioshock, Bioshock Remastered remains faithful and has not made any drastic changes to the core experience. Both new and returning players can play it as intended. It does introduce a new game mode and adds achievements to encourage players to complete objectives, effectively increasing its replayability.

Return to the Rapture

Bioshock is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed video games of all time. While it had pretty innovative gameplay mechanics when it first came out, the aspect where it truly shines is with its riveting storytelling. The fact that it allowed players to affect how its world and story unfolds is an experience unlike any other. Bioshock Remastered is a visual overhaul, and more.

This official remaster introduces high resolution textures and makes improvements to the original's models and interface, in line with modern standards, as well as full controller support. Then, there's the Museum of Orphaned Concepts, which is an interactive level where you can see scrapped art concepts and ideas during the game's early development. It even includes Director's Commentary from its lead developer and art director.

What's more, there's the new Challenge Rooms mode that offers players standalone levels to test their combat and puzzle-solving skills. It now has full integration with Steam Achievements to make it easy to track and aim for completion. Unfortunately, this new version suffers from frequent crashes, which get in the way of progress often. Hopefully, this issue gets fixed as soon as possible in a future update.

So close to perfection

If you're a returning fan, Bioshock Remastered will be a visual treat from start to finish. If you're new to the series, though, you'll get to play one of the best games of all time in the best it has ever looked while still remaining faithful to the original. It is as close to perfect as it can get once that crashing issue gets ironed out.
